Alvies x Jennay Say Qua

Jennay is no stranger to Alvies. She’s helped with several creative projects here over the years, and when she heard about the opportunity to put her touch on our Rainey Boots, she jumped on the opportunity. Jenny has been a multi-disciplinary artist since her exit from the womb in 1991. She’s a painter, writer, illustrator, rapper, tarot card reader, skateboarder, and all-around unicorn of a human we’re happy to call friend. Below is what Jennay had to say about her boots:

“My Alvies design was inspired by Everlasting Gobstoppers, Josie and the Pussycats, The Mystery Machine, TC Superstar, festival girlies, Lil Nas X, Paris Hilton in The Simple Life, and the feeling of getting every lyric right on a song you just learned from the radio. It is about being called a lush with pride. Tumbleweed - but like - Tumblr on weed. And Bob Ross’s philosophy of no mistakes, only happy accidents. Each boot is its own unique experience in splatters and personality. What will yours whisper to you at dawn?”

Alvies boots and leather flip-flops are made by one of the oldest and most respected bootmakers in León, the bootmaking capital of the world. History fact: León has been a shoemaking hub since 1645. Many of the bootmaking OGs in our ethical factory have been crafting boots by hand for decades. They use traditional methods and are paid a fair wage for their skills.
